Carrick-on-Suir Cycle Loop Directions
0 to 10km
Starting on the north quay of the River Suir, cross the narrow Old Bridge and go straight up the hill ahead. You come to an odd crossroads at the top – go straight ahead on the main road.
Soon this road bends left by a green. Beside a stone wall here you turn right and immediately left on the road that goes towards the mountains.
You climb out of the town and keep going on the famous Seskin Hill. And you keep going straight all the way up.
After going over the top and down the other side, take the first left on a narrow road [5km marker].
After a while you turn right at the first t-junction. Take the immediate left and you reach a t-junction with the R676. Turn left here and follow this road all the way back to Carrick-on-Suir. After a while you start a descent.
10 – 13km
You round a hairpin and ride back down to the town. You pass the turnoff for Seskin Hill and turn a sharp right on this main road.
The road bends left and you cross the bridge and turn left at the t-junction. Go down Main Street. When the road narrows, Sean Kelly Square is just ahead – there is a plaque on The Tannery pub and memorabilia inside. Otherwise turn left before the road narrows and you return to the quay.
