This tour passes the remarkable Devenish Island before heading through quiet countryside to Omagh.
The lovely Gortin Glen section takes you near the Sperrin Mountains before passing through Strabane and cycling the beautiful Foyle Valley and entering the walled city of Derry on a bike path.
This is a scenic route if you want to cycle Enniskillen to Derry in one day and the Foyle Valley offers a pleasant run in to Derry city centre.
You can combine this with the Sligo to Enniskillen route for a great two-day trip.
Enniskillen Castle is over 600 years old and has two museums.
Devenish Island is set in the waters of Lough Erne and is only accessible by boat. It contains a magnificent round tower and other monastic buildings.
Omagh has two monuments to the victims of the 1998 bombing.
Gortin Glen Forest Drive is a scenic drive in the foothills of Mullaghcarn.
Cycle Enniskillen to Derry Useful Info
The first few kilometres leaving Enniskillen are on an A road. However, you are then on backroads almost all the way to Strabane, save for a stretch in Omagh town. You are then only briefly on a B road before getting on the Foyle Valley bicycle path.
Bus Eireann has services to Dublin, Omagh, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Knock, Donegal and Letterkenny.
Translink has trains to Coleraine, Ballymena, Antrim and Belfast.
Translink also has express buses throughout the day to Belfast.
