Leenane is the start point for this fantastic ride along Killary Harbour and past the beautiful Doo Lough and Sheeffry Passes. You will see some of the most beautiful parts of Connemara on this route.

From there you cycle around the magnificent Croagh Patrick before reaching Westport on a welcome flat road.

Much of the route is on deserted backroads, and you will enjoy great views from the start to the finish in the cycling paradise of Westport, where cyclists are always welcome.

Leenane is an excellent centre for outdoor activities.

Killary Harbour is Ireland’s only fjord.

Aasleagh Falls are rapids just beside the road at the entrance to Killary Harbour.

Doo Lough Pass is one of the most famous scenic roads in Ireland and was a location in the film Leap Year.

The Sheeffry Pass is an outstanding road to cycle on.

Croagh Patrick is Ireland’s holiest mountain and a pilgrimage site. You pass it on the run in to Westport.
