This trip along the coast of the Inishowen Peninsula is a hilly but scenic ride to the most northerly point of Ireland.
It includes the famous Gap of Mamore – the bane of many a cyclist – bring your lowest gears!
From Malin Head, you hug the north coast of the Inishowen Peninsula, going up and down into numerous small coves. After a long descent into Greencastle, you have a mostly flat 30km run into Derry.
It’s a neat addition to a Mizen to Malin cycle, if you have the time.
From Enniskillen you ride north across small hills and countryside that grows ever more scenic.
You pass the Grianan of Aileach above Derry City and have a climb in the centre of the Inishowen Peninsula that gets you off the main road before the last leg to Malin Head.
